Saturday October 9: After countless hours of post-production, the UFO (Unidentified Fighting Object) of Opponent is ready for its action-packed film début.

When a cash bounty is put out on a shipwrecked alien, every wacko within 100 miles turns up to a small-town junkyard, armed to the teeth and itching to take a swing at the creature. What results is a mind blowing, out of control free-for-all of man vs. man vs. machine vs. alien vs. God only knows what else.

Having previously helmed Synthetic Cinema's Banshee!!!, Opponent marks the second feature film directed by New Haven, CT's Colin Theys, working from a script by Waterbury, CT native John Doolan, who's previous works include Banshee!!! , as well as Assault of the Sasquatch.

Opponent boasts a cast lead of Jeremy London, star of television's Party of Five and 7th Heaven, as well as the cult smash Mallrats and the upcoming season of VH1's hit Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, and WWE superstar "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, known for his dominating performance in John Carpenter's science fiction classic They Live, taking another stab at alien ass-kicking. The film also features a commanding yet tantalizing performance by newcomer Adrienne LaValley as Linnea Gold, a modern day femme fatale with a biting edge.

Screening at the Connecticut Science Center on Saturday, October 9th at 8pm, tickets will be sold online or at the door for $8.00.  Limited to 200 seats, advanced ticket purchases are encouraged to ensure entrance and are now available at www.silkcityflickfest.
